Investment on Projects

Did you know that in the world today for every dollar invested in successful projects, almost two dollars are wasted on problematic projects?

Notwithstanding how much modern project management has advanced, nowadays close to 70% of projects have problems. That is that they do not generate the expected benefits or that they are completely abandoned. In addition to the business and financial losses incurred by the organizations, there is also the emotional impact on the people and other factors like the loss of credibility.

In the last five years we have been analyzing, researching, and implementing solutions to this universal dilemma and we have determined that the principal solutions come from the people side of change. In spite of that ever present cliché “people are the most important component of a transformation process,” the reality, as evidenced in our research, that the cliché is not fulfilled in the majority of organizations. So to substantially improve a transformation’s chances of success, the people side of change has to be dealt with more methodically and rigorously, and with greater discipline. We call our proposal “The 10 Elements for Successful Transformations.”

With this blog we want provide a space for discussion where we can break the paradigm that only 30% (or even fewer) of the projects are successful. Starting with our next blog, which will come out in March, we will begin to share our proposal that is based on the 10 Elements. We will let you know when this happens.
