That’s why Human Group proposes the 10 Elements for the
success of organizational transformations. These 10 Elements have to be mixed, dosed, adjusted,
broken down into their component activities, and activated during the day-to-day implementation of a
transformational project.

Even when a well-planned and rigorous project methodology is followed, with people issues there is no
perfect recipe because during the implementation of any project imponderable situations are real and
permanent, even more so those related to situations and moments that involve people.

The human factor in a project is the sum of the
individual situations of all those involved in the transformation. Each individual views the
transformation from his or her personal perspective because people have their own perception of the
world, even when they share various aspects with others involved in the same transformation.

Therefore, thinking that there is an ABC step by step prescription for implementing Change Management in
a transformation is a great pipe dream. Projects are lived day-to-day and even more so on the people
side of change. For this reason, the solution is a mix of the 10 Elements suited, adjusted and dosed to
the daily realities of the project.

You can read more about Human Group’s proposal in the book by Alfonso Carvajal Valli – 10
Elements for Successful Organizational Transformations – (soon to be translated into English).
The Spanish version can be found at Librería Nacional, in Colombia.

From the perspective of our practices and research at Human Group, change management methodologies are not recipes, formulas or predetermined steps, as suggested by some well-known change management figures around the world.
